Summer is here!

Well, it's been awhile since we've checked in so here is what's been going on with the Williamsons. This last weekend was my Grandma's (Payton's Great Grandma!) 90th birthday and we celebrated in Sequim! Payton met his Great Grandparents and Great Aunti and Uncle, and saw his Grandparents and Aunt and Uncle Vey. Everyone had a great time and we got some great pictures. I will post them soon once I get them from my sister (the true professional).
Payton is growing like a weed! We went to the doctor a week ago and he was 11 pounds, 6 ounces, and 23 inches long. He is in the 50th percentile so I can't complain! He is still eating every 2 hours or so, and I'd love for that to slow down, but overall, things are going great! And best of all? He is consistently sleeping through the night. He goes to bed at around 9:30-10 and sleeps at least 9 hours. Last night he slept 10.5 hours! I still have to check on him a lot because I get nervous he's not breathing but so far so good!
As you can see in one of the pictures, he is starting to suck his thumb to soothe himself. He is also saying 'ooooo' a lot and likes to repeat it when you say it to him. He loves to stand with our support and I think he's getting the idea of how walking works, placing one foot in front of the other (although I don't want him to walk too soon! I like placing him in his chair and knowing he'll be there when I turn around!) He loves it when Ry plays the piano and loves music in general. Still loves sitting outdoors and listening to the birds and the wind. With summer here, we look forward to spending a lot more time outdoors, perhaps some hikes and few trips to the beach. Winston is still being good around him, give or take the occasional toy on Payton's face. Payton is a trooper though and is putting up with Winston's kisses and toys very well, I must say.
I am easing back into work and it's nice to have a little break to engage my brain in a different way. I don't worry though because Grandma Brenda comes and gets him and they spend a few hours hanging out in her hammock or reading stories while I help to pay the mortgage. I'm not sure what we'll do in the Fall but I know we'll work it out.
Notes on the pictures:
  • Ryan with Payton, doing his famous face (looking down, making a fish face)
  • Auntie Erin with Payton, fussy but happy to be in her arms
  • Winston in the Boppy (he thinks he's a baby too)
  • Payton in his crib sucking his thumb
  • Winston 'guarding' Payton (or wondering why Payton is not playing with him)
  • Payton on his tummy; shows what a strong head and neck he has!

Happy Father's Day!

Yesterday was Ryan's first Father's Day and we had a great day! We spent the morning at church and I dressed Payton in his first 'real' outfit. I can't remember who gave it to me but he was just super cute in it. He was all smiles and it was fun to show him off :) Church was great too and it was a nice way to celebrate the day.

We then went to a Barbecue at Bob and Breva's house and Payton loved sitting outside on the blanket. He really loves the fresh air and the sounds. Adrian and Winston had a ball together as well, playing, well, ball! Winnie is such a great dog and really completes our little family.

We ended the day with Gramma Brenda taking Payton to her house for some quality Gramma-Grandson time while Ry, Winnie, and I went to the bluffs and walked along the cliffs. We got 'lost' in the forest amongst the campgrounds and it was really fun to watch Winnie explore. The sun was setting and it was the end of a great day.

Milestones: Payton is semi-laughing and mimicking our sounds. His favorite sounds is 'ooooooo' and he actually made it through an entire story without getting bored and crying. He is sleeping 8 hours consistently each night with a long nap in the morning. The afternoon/evening is unpredictable but we are starting the routine of bath before bedtime. He sleeps very well in his crib alone and mom and dad are happy to be getting sleep!

Payton has his 2 month checkup tomorrow so stats to follow!

We've made it 2 months!

Well, it's been awhile since I posted because we have been busy! We just got back from a great trip to Seattle where we spent some quality time with Grandma and Grampa Wilson, did a phot shoot with Auntie Ewon, and then travelled to Eastern Washington to Blue Lake with Auntie Ewon and Jim. Payton did great and he is definitely going to be an outdoorsy kid. He loves to be outside and observe; we even sat by the fire in some cold weather and once he was bundled up, he just sat there and chilled out.

Some huge milestones happened the last couple weeks. Major smiles are happening and we are now just waiting for his first laugh. He is so close and while I think I've caught a few teeny giggles, nothing to write about yet. But he is defintely making a lot more eye contact and follows you from side to side. He loves to stand while we hold is arms and mom (Gramma) thinks he's going to be an early walker. But not too early! It's nice to be able to place him somewhere and know that he's going to stay there (that is, unless Winston gets to him first! he keeps trying to roll him over!).

Another milestone is that he is sleeping 8 hours stretches at night. I am amazed at that and so greatful! Life is much easier when I've had rest! Placing a heating pad down in the crib before we put him down has really helped. That, and his white noise machine. He's still eating like crazy but we sort of weighed him ourselves and he is now 11 lbs! I take him to the doctor for his 2 month checkup on the 17th so we'll have more extact numbers there.

All in all, things are going great! Payton is loved by all and we just think he's the cutest little guy! He continues to bless us each day and we look forward to the summer where we can sit outside and look at birds and trees and clouds. We just have to wait for this darn rain to go away!!!

We are now looking forward to Payton meeting his Great Grandma and Grandpa House the end of this month. I will definitely post pictures.
