More GREAT Pics (which I did not take!)

Just wanted to post a few more fun pics Payton's Auntie took of him this weekend. He sure loves her!
I'm also happy to report that Mr. Payton Alexander (Master P!) slept through the night! He went to bed at 10:15 and woke up at 8:30 and his mother is very pleased (and rested). Hopefully this is a trend....but I have learned in the last 9 months that you should never get too comfortable or confident because it can all change in an instant!

Don't be deceived by his toothy grin!

He may look cute but behind that smile is a boy who is starting to test his mom and dad! :) Mr. Pea has learned that when he whines, Mom scoops him up and he gets to hang out in her arms while she tries to get things done with one hand. Well, things are starting to change and he doesnt' like it one bit!

Last night he woke up at 4:30 so I fed him but then I put him back to bed and he was not a happy camper. Instead of picking him up and rocking him, or playing with him as I have been, I set him back in his crib and boy, did he scream! We just shut the door and let him work it out and he eventually went back to bed. I'm hoping tonight will entail less drama and more sleep but we'll see!

My family came to Sequim this weekend for 'Christmas' and it was a lot of fun! As usual, mom outdid herself and got us all some amazing gifts. I got a Flip video which will allow me to videotape Payton and easily upload it to this blog so things are about to get interesting! Payton got some great gifts too like a rainmaker, a drum, and some board books that he can suck on :) Winnie got a box of toys from his Auntie and he has already obliterated one of them. Geez!

I am happy that Christmas is over though and we can start a fresh new year. Welcome 2009!

What's the point of doctors anymore?

Payton doesn't have an ear infection, he has Roseola. He was misdiagnosed and I'm annoyed!
I should have just gone on the Internet!
Anyways, Merry Christmas Eve!

Update!

Pea has a double ear infection so he tooks his first round of meds tonight and are hoping he'll sleep soundly! Time will tell....

Sickies!

It's been a rough week for the Williamsons! The only one who is feeling well is Mr. Winston...but he'll want to play fetch on his death bed so that's not saying much!

Ry has been perpetually sick for what seems like forever and the doctor thought he had pneumonia but the chest exam came back fine. He's going to try to get some antiobiotics to nip whatever he has in the bud. I have been on the verge of getting sick but I think I'm going to pull through this time. I was able to rest a bit yesterday and after taking some nasty Oregano oil, my sore throat is gone. Payton is another story.....

Mr. Pea got his first fever on Friday night. It has been going up and down for the past three days (the highest was 101.8) and has been pretty listless for the most part. We thought he was getting better last night but he woke up at 2:30 am and was inconsolable. We were up until 4:30 and then we just had to let him cry himself to sleep in his crib. That is NOT an easy thing to do for a first time mom but I was about to pass out from fatigue so I had to. Turns out he is grabbing his right ear so we are taking him to the doctor at 4:30 today for a checkup. If he has an ear infection, I'll be sort of glad because we'll know how to fix him! I can't wait until he can communicate.....

On a positive note, we had a wonderful few days in the Seattle snow! Gramma and Grampa go to spend some quality time with Mr. Pea and Ryan and I got to go on a date which was really great. It snowed more than I have seen it in a looong time and Winnie enjoyed frolicking in it. We hightailed it back to Sequim on Saturday to avoid the next storm which really never happened for us. It DID snow a lot last night and we had a great walk today in it. Looks like we are in for a White Christmas! Here's a pic of Pea looking at my mom and dad's tree :)

Payton isn't crawling yet but definitely on the verge. I will be sure to take a lot of pics of him amongst the wrapping paper...his favorite!
Here's Payton asleep on his Gramma last night:

Merry Christmas Eve Eve Eve Eve! :) Here's a pic of the live Nativity scene our church did this weekend. They had a live donkey, cow, and sheep there! So cool.

Get better little man!

Teething

I dont' have any pics to post of Pea today but I just have to say that his teeth couldn't come in fast enough. We are basically back at Day 1 in terms of sleep schedule (or lack thereof!). He's been getting up about every three hours, and sometimes he won't go back to sleep. He does this thing where I pick him up and he climbs up my chest. That's when I know we're in trouble; it's his way of saying 'Let's play mom!.'

Pea is also in a phase where only mom will do. So its been hard to get anything accomplished because he sees me and he screams. The only thing that works is actually taking him out of the house so mom is 'out of sight, out of mind.' Oy! I know this too shall pass. I love being needed by him but I'm not crazy about the idea of raising a mama's boy. A good balance would be great. But all in good time.

I did want to post a pic of Winston girlfriend Luci. They had a sleepover last weekend so we couldnt' help but take pics of the two of them snuggling. Okay, we made them sit next to each other but they DID have a ball together :)

Stats!

Had to post a pic of Payton's Christmas jammies! Thanks Grammy!
The obligatory Winston photo All smiles

We had Payton's Wellness checkup yesterday and he got an A+++ from his doctor.
He is now 18 lbs. 8 oz. which is in the 30th percentile for his age and 28 inches long, which is in the 75th percentile. So at this rate he'll be tall and skinny. He's already eating a ton of food so not sure where it's going but he's very active so he must need it all to keep going. Oh, and he had six teeth!

He'll be 8 months on the 11th and he is SO close to crawling, but not yet. We have to start thinking about gates, especially around the wood stove. I think we'll have our work cut out for us since he's such a curious boy.

We put up the tree last night and he loved the lights. He likes to feel the pine needles too. I'm thinking this Christmas is going to be hoot with all the paper and bows.

Well, it's Friday and we are all happy. We have our friend's dog Luci staying over tonight so even Winnie is happy. All is well at the Williamsons!

Baby's First Thanksgiving!

Payton made it through his first Thanksgiving with flying colors! My sister had 17 people over at her house (and was cool as a cucumber) and Payton did way better than I thought he would. He usually gets pretty fussy when there a lot of people and noise but he did so good. Mom fed him peas from her plate and he loved them, of course. The only thing he's refused to eat so far are green beans. He even ate pureed brocolli without anything mixed in. Strange kid!
He is so close to crawling! He has finally figured out that he can push over his feet when sitting up so the next step is figuring out that he can move his legs. Right now he just looks like a beached whale with his legs and arms flailing.
We took him to the mall today and he loved looking around at all the people. He LOVES the spoon that I use to feed him so he pretty much carried that around all day. I have to go buy him some stuffed animals too because he is loving the texture of soft things.
We think that Pea will be 'spirited' because he does this loud grunting thing when he wants more food. Like he's demanding more. I tried to get it on video because it's really funny. He also keep yelling at the top of his lungs just to test things out. Cute now but probably not cool in a restaurant or other public setting!
We go back to Sequim tomorrow which is sad becuase it's been great to be in the city and with my family but all good things come to an end. It will be good though for Pea to get back into a routine.
Looking forward to Baby's First Christmas and more milestones!
Enjoy the photos. My sister is amazing.

More fun every day!

Thumb sucker! Yes, Winnie is in the pic

The only picture that Winston is not in, simply because he cannot jump on the changing table! (he would if he could haha)

Payton turned 7 months old on Nov. 11 this week and he gets more fun every day! He is definitely a thumbsucker, which is fine with me because he always has what he needs to soothe himself. We are now in a routine of morning and afternoon naps which is great and he still cracks up every time Winnie is near. Maybe next time I'll post pics of our family. Until then, enjoy.

Here comes the rain!

Payton crashed in his car seat A kiss from Winnie on the eye....
And the ear......

And the head! Good boy!

Pea loves his new high chair!

More food mom!

Sophie guarding Payton

Winston, the celebrity!

The beautiful Fall is over and the rain has come to Seattle! Surprise surprise! But Payton still LOVES to be outside, rain or shine, so I must get him some more rain gear. Nothing really earth shattering to report other than we had a great week and Pea gets stellar reports from his Auntie Melanie who takes care of him a few hours a day while I work. Melody, our pastor's wife, has started taking him on Fridays in prep for when Melanie goes to South Africa and that appears to be working great. She even has help from her dog Sophie, who apparently guards Payton and sits patiently outside the door while Payton naps. So cute. Like my sister says, Payton will have no choice but to love dogs!

Speaking of dogs, our little man Winston is a celebrity! He was chosen to be on a cover about dog safety (ah, the irony) and I think he looks very handsome. I posted the pic here. Shout out to Western Washington's top dog photographer for making Winston look oh so regal (minus the string hanging out of his mouth). ha ha!

We are looking forward to the holiday season and Payton's first Christmas. I know he's going to love all the wrapping paper and boxes, which is great, because it means I don't have to get him anything this year!
Payton still hasn't figure out how to crawl yet, but he is a GREAT eater and loves to bounce. It's just a matter of time before he is scooting all over the place. I am currently trying to get him used to his baby carrier because he just doesn't like being strapped into anything. He cries every single time we put him in his car seat or put a jacket on him. I am just trying to prepare for when he's walking because I think he's going to be an active one (hmmm, who do you think he's going to take after??). Good thing we have Winnie to run around with him :)

Enjoy the pics! Shannon

I'm 17 lbs!

Hello from Sequim! Things are going great here and the weather has been spectacular. Or, should I say SPOOKtacular? :) As you can see, I have Halloween on the brain and am still trying to figure out what the little guy will be for his first Halloween. Resources are limited here so I guess a trip to Wal Mart will help me decide. I'm not in the creative mindset this year so he'll probably end up being a pumpkin. I wanted to dress P up as Winston and vice versa but not sure I have a sleeper that would fit Winston. ha ha

As the title of this email states, Master P is now 17 lbs! I had to take him to the doctor for his cough because he is not fully vaccinated yet and I'm a new mom and was freaking out about whooping cough. She said he definitely doesn't have it (she said 'you'd know'), but he did have some sort of a virus, beyond the teething issues. I decided not to take the antibiotics route (too young!) and he kicked the virus himself. Way to go P! So we are in the clear for now but he is still in pain with all this teething business. He now has four teeth, two on the bottom and two on the top, and woe to anyone who sticks their fingers in his mouth. It hurts!!!!

Not much else to report other than he is sitting up mostly on his own, but I still have to put a pillow behind him since he falls periodically. I have discovered that he loves tupperware, hates pureed green beans (okay, now that I type that, doesn't sound good myself!), and he absolutely loves Winston. They are going to be best buds for sure.

The posted pics are of poor quality, I know (had to say that for my sister), but I had to post an example of how Winston waits at Payton's crib for him to come out. Now, if we can just get Payton to stop closing his mouth so Winston won't do the 'remora fish' on him. Good grief!

Halloween Pictures to come!

He's sitting up!

Enjoy the pics! he met his Great Grandma Wilson last weekend in Spokane. Sitting up!

He fell!

Picking grass with Dad

Well, Mr. Pea is finally sitting up! It happened last week and, while he still requires support or pillows behind him, he's doing it himself. It's great because I can now wash his back in the bathtub much easier. He is also eating two meals a day (sweet potatoes, avocado, and banana are all going down easily).

We started Kindermusik last week where we sing and dance around and it's great to meet other Moms as well. Payton loves loves loves music so I'm trying to find ways to get him exposed to it so he doesn't have to listen to me sing :P

The sad news is that Pea has his first cold and it was pretty brutal at first. He screamed until 3 am and finally cried himself to sleep. Poor guy! We have a humidifier in his room which seems to be helping but unfortunately he's too young for cold medicine so he has to ride it out with a little bit of Tylenol to help out.

This weekend we'll have 14 people and 4 dogs at our house so that should be a circus! Will be sure to post pics!

Lil' Punkin

Just had to post a pic of Payton in his Pumpkin hat, courtesy of his 'city' Gramma :) We plan on taking him trick-or-treating this year wearing this. I plan on eating all of his candy. Hey, I gave birth to him, I deserve a Butterfinger :P More pics to come!

Almost 6 months!

Sweet Potatoes!

Uncle Jim and Mr. P (love the ears!)

Time sure if flying by! Payton is almost 6 months old and is looking more like a little man every day! He has two teeth coming in at the same rate now (bottom middle) and I have tried hard to get a shot of them but he is too hard to pin down! He is very active and loves his jumparoo. The hardest part of this age is trying to keep him entertained. I signed us up for Kindermusik at the Aspire Academy here in town, where he'll be exposed to music and singing, which I'm sure he's going to love. I am also keeping an eye out for opportunities at the library and First Teacher, which is a free government funded facility for new parents and their kids. should be fun!
