A Payton Update

Payton will be 10 months old on Feb. 11. We are having so much fun with him right now and are convinced he is going to be the class clown. Just today, he started crawling to me, pulling on my pant leg, and then giving me the biggest toothy grin. I really should take a picture of it because it's quite funny. I'm just waiting for when he does this when he's in big trouble. Then it might not be so cute (and my mom would promptly telll me that I used to do the same thing to her)!

As far as milestones go, Payton can now climb the stairs on his own. Don't worry, we are always right behind him, and I'm not sure I should even encourage the climbing, but I love the look of satisfaction on his face when he gets to the top.
He loves to sit up in the bathtub now and is learning the joys of splashing water. In fact, I think he loves water in general because he has taken to sticking his hand in the dog's water bowl, then taking his hand out and laughing. In, then out, then in, then out...until I can't stand it anymore and have to wipe up the mess. I've caught him trying this in the toilet too but luckly I've caught him each time.

I think I mentioned in an earlier post that Payton doesn't like to read. He still doesn't like it because it requires sitting still, which he just can't unless he is nursing (and even then, he's wiggling his legs or hands), but he does like to turn pages so I look at that as progress. I will keep trying.

We are *loving* his Kindermusik class and will continue to the next session. It's really turned into a support group where we share our challenges and joys at the beginning of class, and I'm looking forward to getting to know the moms better. Payton is really starting to interact with the other kids in class so I think it's time to start scheduling some playdates!

Auntie Tamara babysat Pea on Friday night so we could hang out with our friends (thanks Tam!) and then Matt and Darcy babsyit him on Saturday night so we could have dinner with Ry's sister Shannon for her birthday. He did well both nights so hopefully when we take off for Hawaii for 10 days (yikes!), he'll be a good boy for his 'City Gramma.'

Here's some random/fun pics:

Payton in the fridge (what can I say, he loves food!)

I don't know who was more perplexed by Winston being placed in the crib, Winston or Payton?
I just thought this hat was the cutest (a little too big right now). It came with matching Uggs :P

Well, that's about it. Pea has his well visit soon so I'll post some stats on his height/weight then.

Cheers.
