So, I know, I know, it's been way too long since I've posted anything. Life has been very very crazy for all of us the past couple weeks so blogging has been lower on the priority list. But, as you can guess, Payton is oblivious and happy as can be and thinks all of the craziness is a hoot! Gotta love kids for putting things into perspective and always having a sense of humor :)
Last weekend we drove to Seattle, dropped the kiddo off, and then escaped to Leavenworth for a fun night away with friends. We tasted copious amounts of wine (some great, some not so great), ate great food, and laughed a lot (of course). It was well worth the trek but I was reminded why I love NOT living in the city when we hit peak traffic on Highway 2. But then we had to get all the way back to Sequim, so after 6 hours of travel we were exhausted and Father's Day wasn't that great.
Sooo....we made up for it by heading to Jamestown Beach with Pea and Winnie in tow and it was great fun! Payton talked to the seagulls, sat in tide pools, threw sand....and threw some more sand. He loooooooves sand! It was also hilarious when Winnie would sprint across the beach and the clams would squirt up water. Wish I had that on camera! Here are pics of Pea having a blast. Look at that platinum hair!
We are trying to teach Payton what 'NO' means. He thinks it's all a game and his favorite new game it opening and shutting the wood stove. All well and good when it's summer, but come Winter, that will be a hard habit to break so we are starting now to teach him that it's off limits. As you can see here, he hasn't figured it out yet.
